A new Narrative Batrep
Oakstalk emerged from the
realm roots. He was told his bark older than the race of men. He could no
longer stride the realm roots like he once had. He was the final member of his war
grove to arrive, the dryads of the household stood assembled on the edge
of the wildwood. He noticed the storm cast massed on the edge of the forest,
they had fought alongside the storm cast on many occasions, and Oakstalk
admired there fighting prowess but they were too young a race to be trusted,
they had fire in their hearts and would let nothing stand between them and their
goal. Sadly this time it was Oakstalk and his war grove that stood between them
and their goal, an ancient ward stone, remnants of a bye gone age where such
mighty stone could ward off the taint of chaos. They were much like the
young tree lord who stood beside him now, Oakstalk could feel the eagerness to
fight emanating from the young warrior, Thistleleaf was you’d by tree
standards, the thirst to prove himself before an elder of the clan drove him.
Oakstalk raised his staff and surrounded his dryads in magical energy. He ordered a halt to the war grove, he could sense a foul taint on the air, the sigmarites would not be the only thing they faced this day. He motioned to the tree revenants that had accompanied him to battle. They faded into the trees to scout out this new threat, almost immediately two huge boulders crashed through the tree tops to shatter harmlessly on the the magic barrier protecting the dryads.
Far off in the distance the tree revenants saw their new adversary, hordes of sakven vermin swarmed the land, there plague and destruction tainting all they touched, they had constructed 3 of their tainted catapults. The revenants acting quickly using their way pipes to navigate far from the realm roots they appeared behind the lines of the skaven and charged one of the great catapults shattering it with their ethereal blades.
Sensing the opportunity to prove himself Thistleleaf leapt forward realm rooting far ahead of army, Oakstalk cried out to warn the young tree but it was too late fearing the closing trap would close on Thistleleaf before he would notice the old warrior pushed himself forward to aid the young tree. He had enough time to lose a bolt of magic toward the coming horde of rats, a great thunder clap announced the arrival of the sigmarites paladins, the charged Oakstalk but the thick trees meant they were only able to come at him two at a time.
The battle was coming to a head, the pivotal moments that would shape the course of this day, beseeched on both sides, by a horde of rats with their infernal devices and a host of warriors blinded by the holy mission, the two tree lords stood back to back. Oakstalk pushed his magic out to include Thistleleaf in his protection.
With the ancient at his back Thistleleaf felt strong enough to take any fow there where rats scurrying around his feet but he payed them no heed he could feel the knowledge of combat calling from Oakstalk through the spirit song they both shared. Centuries of knowledge flowing through him allowing him to predict and block even the wildest of the rats attacks. Even there quirk of exposing into vile puss on death gave him no concern. The towering plague furnace was close at hand, he reached out tearing the metal and wood asunder with his claws.
The revenants deep in enemy lines had finally been spotted a killed one final catapult before they where brought down and killed by a horde of rats.
The combined strikes of the paladins and there prosecutor support struck hard at Oakstalk he killed the first rank of paladins with a sweep of his staff impaling another on his claws he was no stranger to combat, but he was old his dark creaked as a fought off blow after blow but he was wearying he dropped to one knee. Lementing that his service to the everqueen would soon be at an end, he felt one of the hammers shatter bark from his back. This would be his last fight.
He felt the spirit song calling to him and the voice of the wildwoods themselves calling out to him lending the ancient warrior There strength to continue the fight. He could hear the song of ghyran lifting him up mending his bark and retuning strength to his form when he listened he could hear the voice a branch wych shaping the spirit song to aid his recovery. He was not yet whole but he would live. He should retreat but that would leave the young tree alone amidst the flood of enemies, he stood his ground lifting a paladin high over head and crushing him as an example to those who would stand against the might of the ever queen.
They had brunted the worst of the fighting the skaven had retreated. Their devices destroyed and their cunning tricks bested they had lost the will to battle on renewed by the his rush of energy Oakstalk and Thistleleaf turned to face the remainder of the stormcast army. Many of them where retreating from the forest in an attempt to form a secure line further back. A sole squad of liberators stood to hold the wraith of the tree lords. These warriors where not strong enough however and they soon fell trampled underfoot.
There fows where retreating on both sides there wardstone was safe. Oakstalk and Thistleleaf lifted the voice and bellowed there triumph into the tree song.

Age of sigmar
Its not a slow game, we met for our weekly gaming session and decided to play some of age of sigmar since now it has a points system more people in the group are willing to play it. So amidst the hail of bullets and alien energy weapons we set up to play an evening of Age of sigmar.
We managed to play 4 games in about 3 hours. By contrast only 5 turns of 40k were played across the other two games. Age of sigmar is not a slow game
Game one
The armies where vampire counts vs ogres the new frost ones. The first game was short due to placement of models i was able to use my banshee and two terrorgiest to screem at his army and force 2 full units off the table before a devastating charge from a large unit of bloods knights i was able to cripple his army and win on the second turn.
Game two
having seen the devastation caused by the blood knights my opponent stayed the hell away using the terrain and his mountain cats to screen his large monsters long enough for his yetti to make it into combat and kill my terrorgiest winning him the game.
Game three
My opponent had found a plan that work and shot my terrorgiest with everything he had killing it outright and winng him game three
Game four
For change my oponent picked to try and endure my army for the finaly game, keep one unit alive untill the end of turn 6.

Wolves vs Eldar battle report with pictures
Hey
guys so today I thought I would try to add some photos to the narrative battle
report today’s game, An Eldar Aspect Host attempts to carry out a
strike on an imperial Monastery currently defended by a small contingent of Space
wolves.
The aspect host advance into the monastery under the cover
fire of their scouts
Seeing the
invaders approaching on their relic the blood claws and the Dreadnaught charge
down the flanks of the battle ready to kill there foe in combat
The sudden charge
of the Space wolves defense caught the elder off guard, the dire avengers and
the farseer move back to increase the gap between them and the oncoming
warriors, whilst the fire dragons move up to engage the Dreadnaught bearing
down on them
The blood
claws where caught in the cross fire of the warp spiders and dire avengers loosing
half their number but they carry on with their charge regardless of the
casualties. The fire dragons manage to deal significant damage the dreadnaught but
it manages to continue walking on.
In Preparation
for their assault the blood claws begin firing there blot pistols into the dire
avengers to great effect killing all of the dire avengers in one hale of fire
Unfortunately
the space wolves suffer there first major loss as the venerable Dreadnaught is
destroyed by a final shot from the fire dragons as it bore down on them
The Remaining Aspect warriors move to the edges of the inner chapel to open fire on the grey hunters in an attempt to weaken their defences before a final assault into the chapel.
The grey
hunters by some divine intervention of the emperor have managed to weather the incoming
volley
Seeing that
his forces will never be able to out shoot the Eldar warriors Mishvarg orders
his men forward into combat leading the change from the front
The blood
claws managed to catch the warp spiders and cut them down with their superior
combat strength and Mishvarg tears into the swooping hawks
Seeing two
of the aspect warrior squads falling in combat the fire dragons move back into
the cover of the building to open fire on the grey hunters as Mishvarg finishes
of the swooping hawks
The far
seer knowing the battle depends on him entering the fray charges the remaining
grey hunters and with a combination of psychic powers, superior speed , and a surprise
attack he manages to kill both of them
As the
battle draws to a close Mishvarg continues his rampage by hacking down the fire
dragons taking minimal damage from there combat attacks
The farseer
emboldened by his success with the blood claws charges Mishvarg, his witch blade
failing to damage him, before being cut down by the wolf lord
with the battle won the Wolves return to the Chapel ready to fight another day

The humans had gone too far this time, Farseer Eragah stood
with his back to the planets infinity circuit he could sense the oncoming
destruction he was still unable to devise there reason to attack but they had
pushed through every exodite settlement they passed sweeping them aside without
thought for the life lost. And now they send 3 of there knight titans go attack
the unguarded circuit. He had had visions of the destruction and had absenced
himself from another campaign to webway half way across known space to arrive at
a the planet just in time but with only 3 of the craftworlds wraithkights and a
number of wraith guard he had collected along the way he was unsure if he could
change the outcome on this event. That was until a silken voice spoke to him and
archon of the dark elder had arrived he would allow the wraith to deploy wia
his own personal portal in exchange for the remains of the knights and the
pilots inside. Eragah had accepted the proposal working with the dark elder disturbed
him but it was a necessary evil to save these elder souls.
Miles away the 3 imperial knights marched in tight formation
they had been dispatched to sneak to the elder shire to destroy a supposed relic
they worshiped. No ground units had been deployed to support them but a number
of dark angel deathwing where readying height above the planet to teleport into
the battle should they become overrun.
The knights sensor pickup the swift advance of the elder wraithknights
and raised their shields to weather the first barrage of the Eldars destructive
weaponry even with the fast reaction this stil bit deep into the armour of the
first knight, bringing their own weapons to bare they returned fire but were
unable to deal any heavy damage to the oncoming wraith constructs. the wraithkinghts
spread out to flank the formation they where able to flank quicker than the
knights could position and the distortion beams ripped the lead knight apart,
it was at this time the archon made good on his promise with a flash and clap
of thunder the archon appeared from the webway surrounded by the imposing forms
of the wraithguard they brought their own distortion weapons and a second knight
fell. In orbit the deathwing captains must have declared the situation a loss and
called of their operation or located a more valuable or secret target they
failed to supply the remaining knight with any support. The last knight
attempted to finish off a wraith knight before it to was destroyed.
End
Sorry this one was so short if was a quick game tabled the
imperium on turn 2 before his deathwing could come to the aid of the knights (no
6s on the D chart though). But that’s what happened when you put half your army
in reserve.
