This is a battle report between my 750 pts crimson first army and a friends space wolves army ive tried to pitch the battle report in a more narrative way instead of a list of events on a table i hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it.

The story

This early after the battle we have yet to learn the true cause start of the conflict between our own 3^rd company and the remnants of the space wolves lead by bjorn fellhanded.

3 razor back armored transports halted at the edge of the town befor proceeding into the open grounds around the lake escorted buy a squad of assault marines, inside the razor backs where the the remnants of tactical squads Alius and Laelius, and a Veteran squad lead buy  Veteran Nerva and joined by the Chapter Master Pedro Cantor himself.

Alius’s Razor back was the first to note the oncoming enemy firing a useless burst form its heavy bolter, Learning of the contact else where on the battle field the other two razor backs searching for contacts and firing a barrage into a near by forest forcing the power armored foes into deeper cover. sensing there surprise attack was lost the enemy force took the offensive sending two land speeders rushing towards squad Alius the first opened a hellish barrage of melta fire destroying the tank and killing a member of the squad instantly as the hot fragments pierced the inner hull of the tank. The second ‘speeder fired a salvo of bolter fire into the squad but thanks to the hull of the transport were able to weather the fire.

Cantor’s own transport took a hit from a lascannon expertly aimed but failing to inflict lasting damage to the tank,  this lascannon shot was followed by plasma rounds from the forest giving away the position of the squad hidden within.

With the position’s of there enemy shown the crimson fist launched into battle, Laelius and Canto charged the position and disembarked from there tanks to bring there bolter fire to bear on the enemy who in a desperate attempt to inflict damage and kill there target the enemy attacked it was only as they charged that Veteran Nerva noticed the markings on the armour showing there foe as space wolves 2 veterans died instantly to the charge subdued by sheer number of attacks but Cantor and Nerva’s power fists tore the grey hunters apart sparing none.

On the far side of the battle field sergeant Alius had taken cover in one of the buildings firing at the closer land speeder damaging its hull before the assault squad lead by sergeant Gaius finished the job with a well aimed shot from the plasma pistol. 

The remaining razor backs sped across the battle field to aid Alius and Gaius but where both destroyed by shots from the unknown lasscanon position. Gaius was the first one to notice the second grey hunter squad emaging from a large rock formation, and sensing the only caurs of action lead the attack on the squad, covered by squad Alius, the assault squad made it to combat although they suffered many casualties and only Gaius himself was left to exact vengeance upon the hunters and fighting with a cold hard fury completely opposed to the blind rage of the wolves managed to kill all but 1 of them before the final surprise of the battle, bjorn the fell-handed lead the attack personally he charged Gaius knocking him away with a single swipe before turning to attack Cantor and the remaining veterans, despite his firepower he was unable to inflict lasting wounds before The arrival of the storm raven gunship from a nearby operation ended the fight forcing any more hidden hunters to fall back. There was no confirmed kill on Bjorn, and the storm-raven managed to carry the 8 surviving marines off the battle filed, it was as the engines fired up that a worn but strong voice came over the radio, Gaius had survived.

After the battle sergeants Alius and Laelius were both promoted to veteran sergeants.
